As a strong public safety advocate, I am very grateful for California's probation departments. Every day, these dedicated professionals work to enhance our law enforcement abilities and help offenders who are trying to become productive citizens.
In conjunction with other law enforcement departments and
the community, California's
probation staff promotes crime prevention and supervises the return of
offenders into society. Probation professionals also work tirelessly to protect
victims' rights, including helping them seek restitution.
Probation services are an invaluable component of our
courts and our communities, and are a distinguished branch of our law
enforcement. I ask all Californians to
join me in honoring their immense contributions to our state.
NOW,
THEREFORE, I, ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER, Governor of the State of California, do hereby proclaim July 13-19,
2008, as "Probation Services Week."

IN WITNESS
WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand
and caused the Great Seal of the State of California to be affixed this 3rd day
of July 2008.
ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER
Governor of California
