EXECUTIVE ORDER D-6-99


WHEREAS, the purpose of an executive order is to implement valid laws or public policies; and

WHEREAS, the provisions of Proposition 187, except Sections 2 and 3, have been permanently enjoined by the United States District Court, Central District of California; and

WHEREAS, I have requested that the parties in the litigation enter into mediation supervised by the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, and such court has granted the request and accepted this case into its Circuit Mediation Program;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GRAY DAVIS
, Governor of the State of California, by virtue of the power and authority vested in me by the Constitution and statutes of the State of California, do hereby rescind Executive Order W-113-94, effective immediately.
