First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom to Lift Up the Stories of California Women and Girls in Honor of Women’s History Month

Published:

SACRAMENTO – Over the next three days, California First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom will host a series of conversations lifting up the stories of California women and girls.

Tonight, First Partner Newsom will speak at an event focused on women’s empowerment in Sacramento, and Saturday, the First Partner will interview civil rights legend Dolores Huerta to celebrate the opening of her exhibit at the California Museum.

Through both film and activism, First Partner Newsom has spent the last decade exploring how our limiting gender stereotypes harm both women and men. Her award winning films, Miss Representation and The Mask You Live In, were shown at the Sundance Film Festival in 2011 and 2015, respectively, and have been seen by over 28 million people worldwide.
