Governor Newsom Issues Executive Order to Support Schools Impacted by Wildfires

SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom today signed an executive order to extend relief for schools and students impacted by last year’s devastating Camp, Woolsey and Hill fires. The order ensures continuity in education for displaced students, and extends waivers that facilitate the use of funds to reconstruct cafeteria and kitchen facilities; enable the use of alternative sites for classroom-based charter schools; and allow governing bodies of local education agencies to meet outside their jurisdictional boundaries.
