SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom issued the following statement today on the Legislature’s passage of AB 91, the proposal to expand California’s Earned Income Tax Credit:
“Today’s vote advances good economic policy that puts more than a billion dollars back in the pockets of working families and small business operators throughout California.
“I would like to thank Senate President pro Tempore Toni Atkins, Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon and the bill authors as well as the coalition that spanned the political spectrum who helped move forward this important change.
“Today’s votes bring us one step closer to finalizing a budget and accompanying trailer bills that reflect California’s values.”
