TOMORROW: Governor Newsom, Former Governor Schwarzenegger to Highlight New Investments in Firefighting Technology

McCLELLAN PARK — Governor Gavin Newsom and former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will visit the McClellan Air Force Base tomorrow, August 1, 2019, to highlight some of the new equipment and technology that will assist the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) in their response to wildfires and fire emergencies.

The Governor’s 2019-20 state budget invests nearly $1 billion in emergency preparedness, response and recovery to ensure California communities can prepare for disasters, including funding for C-130 air tankers and 21st century firefighting helicopters.

This week, the Governor is highlighting a number of actions the state is taking – through both the 2019-20 state budget and executive action – to prepare for wildfires and other emergencies.
