TOMORROW: Governor Newsom to Visit Family Center to Highlight Investments in Early Childhood Education Programs

LOS ANGELES – Governor Gavin Newsom will tour and hold a media availability tomorrow at the Hope Street Family Center to emphasize investments of over $2 billion in the state budget for early childhood development, including expanding California children’s access to quality early care and education, and health care, implementing a two-generation strategy that invests in parents so they can invest in their children, and easing some of the financial pressures on parents to help them achieve economic security for their children.

Governor Newsom’s first budget makes significant investments that address early childhood broadly and comprehensively by expanding subsidized childcare and preschool facilities, increasing education and training stipends for childcare and preschool workers and increasing childcare access for low-income families.
