TODAY: State Health Officials, Governor to Provide an Update on the State’s Response to Novel Coronavirus

SACRAMENTO– State health officials and Governor Gavin Newsom will provide a public briefing on the state’s response to novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. Yesterday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed a possible first case of person-to-person transmission of COVID-19 in California in the general public.

WHO: Governor Gavin Newsom, California Health and Human Services Agency Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly, California Department of Public Health Director and State Health Officer Dr. Sonia Angell and Director of the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services Mark Ghilarducci.

WHEN: Thursday, February 27, 2020. Press should be set up by 10:00 a.m. Press conference will begin at approximately 10:30 a.m.
