TODAY: Governor Newsom to Join State Fire and Emergency Officials, First Responders at Local Briefing in Napa County

CALISTOGA – Governor Gavin Newsom will travel to Napa County today to join a local briefing with the state’s top fire and emergency management officials and emergency responders battling the LNU Lightning Complex Fire, which has burned 215,000 acres to date. The Governor will hold a pooled media availability following the briefing.

The Governor has declared a statewide emergency due to the widespread fires and extreme weather conditions, and secured FMAGs to bolster the state’s response to various fires burning in Santa Cruz, San Mateo Napa, NevadaLake, Solano, Yolo and Monterey counties. Governor Newsom yesterday visited residents evacuated by fires across Northern California.

When: Friday, August 21, 2020. Briefing begins at 11:00 a.m., Governor to speak at approx. 11:30 a.m.

Who: Governor Gavin Newsom, CAL FIRE Chief Thom Porter, Office of Emergency Services Director Mark Ghilarducci, California National Guard Adjutant General David Baldwin, and local and state emergency responders.
