LOS ANGELES COUNTY – Governor Gavin Newsom will give remarks today at the opening of a new laboratory in Los Angeles County which will dramatically increase the state’s COVID-19 testing capacity, reduce test turnaround time and create hundreds of new jobs. The facility was built in conjunction with a major diagnostics company under a deal announced in August that will enable the state to process up to an additional 150,000 COVID-19 diagnostic tests a day.

In the afternoon, the Governor and Secretary of State Alex Padilla will visit a vote center in Los Angeles.
