TOMORROW: In Fresno County, Governor Newsom to Highlight State’s Wildfire Preparedness and Response Efforts

FRESNO COUNTY – As California prepares for another challenging wildfire year, Governor Gavin Newsom will tour wildfire preparedness work under way in Fresno County tomorrow and hold a media availability highlighting the state’s emergency early action to boost firefighting support.

The Governor last month announced $80.74 million in emergency funds for 1,399 additional firefighters with CAL FIRE to bolster fuels management and wildfire response efforts. The Governor’s January 2021 budget proposes $1 billion to support wildfire and forest management.
