MONTEREY COUNTY – Governor Gavin Newsom will travel to Big Sur today to attend the reopening of Highway 1 at Rat Creek. Caltrans is reopening the highway nearly two months ahead of schedule following major construction after a mudslide in January washed out 150 feet of the roadway.
