TODAY: In Merced County, Governor Newsom to Announce New Drought and Water Resilience Package as Part of $100 Billion California Comeback Plan

MERCED COUNTY – Governor Gavin Newsom will travel to Merced County today to announce his proposal to bolster the state’s drought response efforts and build long-term water resilience as a part of his week-long tour highlighting the Administration’s comprehensive recovery plan tackling the most persistent challenges facing California.

Earlier today in Oakland, the Governor unveiled the first challenge his plan will tackle: immediate relief for Californians recovering from the pandemic, which includes the largest state tax rebate in American history and billions in funding for expanded rent relief and utility assistance.
