TOMORROW: In Alameda County, Governor Newsom to Highlight Small Businesses Roaring Back as California Fully Reopens

Published:

ALAMEDA COUNTY – Continuing to highlight the state’s full reopening, Governor Gavin Newsom will visit with local business owners in Alameda County tomorrow and highlight state supports to bolster the economic recovery – including the largest small business relief program in the nation.

As of June 15, the state has eliminated pandemic-related restrictions that have been in place over the past year, including physical distancing, capacity limits, county tier systems and masks in almost all settings for vaccinated Californians.

Governor Newsom’s California Comeback Plan doubles down on support for small businesses impacted by the pandemic, investing an additional $1.5 billion in COVID-19 relief grants – bringing the total to $4 billion. Earlier this year, Governor Newsom took swift action to deliver immediate relief to small businesses, including a historic $6.2 billion tax cut for businesses – the largest state small business tax cut in history.

WHEN: Thursday, June 17, 2021 at approx. 10:30 a.m. PDT

The visits will not be livestreamed.

**NOTE: This event is open to credentialed media only, reporters interested in attending must RSVP to govpressoffice@gov.ca.gov by 8:00 a.m. with names of the reporters who will be in attendance for information on covering the event.
