TODAY: In Los Angeles County, Governor Newsom to Sign College Affordability & Accessibility Legislation, Highlight $47.1 Billion Higher Education Package

LOS ANGELES COUNTY – In Los Angeles County today, Governor Gavin Newsom will sign a suite of bills to help make college more affordable and accessible for Californians and highlight the California Comeback Plan’s historic $47.1 billion higher education package – representing the most funding for higher education in modern history.

 

The California Comeback Plan advances significant investments in college affordability and access, including funding to increase the availability of affordable student housing; expand student financial aid; support zero-cost textbook programs; provide more slots for in-state students who wish to attend a CSU or UC school; create transfer pathways for community college students; and $1.9 billion to seed college savings accounts for 3.7 million kids.
