TODAY: Governor Newsom to Visit Central Valley Vaccine Clinic to Promote Vaccinations and Booster Shots

Published:

KINGS COUNTY – Governor Gavin Newsom will today visit a COVID-19 vaccine clinic in the Central Valley to highlight the state’s expansion of booster eligibility to all 18+ Californians and efforts to increase vaccination rates across the state and in our hardest hit communities. Boosters have been approved for those 18 and older six months after receiving the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine and two months after receiving the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.

California has put more shots in arms than any other state – administering over 57 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine – and announced first-in-the-nation vaccine measures, including requiring that workers in health care settings be fully vaccinated, adding the COVID-19 vaccine to the list of vaccinations required to attend school in-person when fully authorized for applicable grade spans, and implementing a standard that all school staff and all state workers either show proof of full vaccination or be tested at least once per week.

WHEN: Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at approx. 11:45 a.m.
