TOMORROW: Governor Newsom to Visit Bay Area Vaccine Clinic to Promote Vaccinations and Booster Shots

Published:

SAN FRANCISCO COUNTY – Governor Gavin Newsom will visit a Bay Area COVID-19 vaccine clinic tomorrow to highlight the availability of boosters to everyone 18+ and efforts to increase vaccination rates across the state and in our hardest hit communities. Boosters have been approved for those 18 and older six months after receiving the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine and two months after receiving the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine.

California has put more shots in arms than any other state – administering over 58 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine – and announced first-in-the-nation vaccine measures, including requiring that workers in health care settings be fully vaccinated, adding the COVID-19 vaccine to the list of vaccinations required to attend school in-person when fully authorized for applicable grade spans, and implementing a standard that all school staff and all state workers either show proof of full vaccination or be tested at least once per week.

WHEN: Monday, November 22, 2021 at approx. 11:00 a.m.

LIVESTREAM: @CAgovernor Twitter page, California Governor Facebook page and California Governor YouTube page.

**NOTE: This event is open to credentialed media only, reporters interested in attending must RSVP to govpressoffice@gov.ca.gov with names of the reporters who will be in attendance for information on covering.
