Governor Newsom Announces Appointments 3.29.24

SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom today announced the following appointments:

Lee Ann Eager, of San Diego, has been reappointed to the California Transportation Commission, where she has served since 2020. Eager was President and Chief Executive Officer of the Fresno County Economic Development Board from 2009 to 2023. She was an Attorney at Lang, Richert & Patch from 2005 to 2009. Eager was Director of the Rape Counseling Service of Fresno from 1988 to 2000. She is a member of the California Workforce Development Board, the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley, the Fresno State Transportation Institute and Fresno Works. Eager earned a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Fresno and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Davis School of Law. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Eager is a Democrat.

Alan Arkatov, of Los Angeles, has been appointed to the Exposition Park and California Science Center Board of Directors. Arkatov has been Senior Advisor to Arizona State University President Michael Crow, Executive Director of the Learning Transformation Studies at Arizona State University, and Professor in the College of Global Futures and Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University since 2023. He was the Katzman/Ernst Chair in Educational Entrepreneurship, Technology, and Innovation at the University of Southern California from 2014 to 2023, and Director of the Center for Engagement Driven Global Education (EDGE) at the University of Southern California Rossier School of Education from 2018 to 2023. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Arkatov is a Democrat.

Noreen Martin, of Pismo Beach, has been appointed to the California Travel and Tourism Commission. Martin has been an Advisor to KSL Resorts since 2023. She was CEO and President of Martin Resorts from 2005 to 2023. Martin was a member of the Visit California Commission from 2012 to 2020. She is a founding member of the Reach Founder’s Circle, the Board of Directors for the Hearst Cancer Resource Board and the Paso Robles Wine Country Association. She is past chair and president of Visit San Luis Obispo County. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Martin is an American Independent.

Stephen Revetria, of San Francisco, has been appointed to the California Travel and Tourism Commission. Revetria has been President of Giants Enterprises since 2010. He is a trustee for the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, a trustee emeritus of the University of San Francisco Board of Trustees, board member for the U.S. Travel Association and a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council on Physical Fitness and Mental Well-Being. Revetria earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of San Francisco. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Revetria is a Democrat.

Linda Workman, of Redding, has been appointed to the 27th District Agricultural Association, Shasta County Fair Board of Directors. Workman has been retired since 2014. She previously served in several positions at the 27th District Agricultural Association, Shasta County Fair from 2002 to 2014, including CEO, Manager III and Business Assistant. Workman was a Billing Specialist at Alltel from 1987 to 2001 and a Receptionist for Dr. Dan Bernett from 1984 to 1991. Workman was a Data Entry Operator for Citizens Utilities Company from 1983 to 1984 and a Floater at Champion International from 1976 to 1984. She is a chairperson for school and community solidarity with the Anderson Union High School District, secretary for community for Anderson Explodes, and treasurer for Toys for the Heart. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Workman is a Democrat.

William “Liam” Coburn, of Upper Lake, has been appointed to the 49th District Agricultural Association, Lake County Fair Board of Directors. Coburn has been Co-Owner and Culinary Director of Crazy Quilt Farms since 2021. He has also been an In-Home Supportive Services Provider since 2019. Coburn was a Kitchen Manager at Lovejoy’s Tea Room from 2014 to 2018 and a Business Manager at Neiman Marcus from 2005 to 2014. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Coburn is a Democrat.

Michael Sellens, of Sacramento, has been appointed to the 52nd District Agricultural Association, Sacramento County Fair Board of Directors. Sellens was a Project Manager at the California Construction Authority from 2011 to 2023. He was a self-employed Environmental Consultant from 1998 to 2011. Sellens earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Kingston University. He is a member of the University of California, Davis Chancellor’s Club. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Sellens is registered without party preference.
