The Constitution prevails, Governor Newsom statement on birthright citizenship

SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom issued the following statement today after the U.S. Supreme Court announced its ruling in Trump v. Barbara:

Birthright citizenship is a constitutional guarantee, plain and simple. Today’s ruling preserves a promise that has defined America for generations and been a cornerstone of American democracy.

The Constitution prevailed.

We have all prevailed.
