Governor Newsom signs legislation 7.13.2026

SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom today announced that he has signed the following bills:

  • AB 34 by Assemblymember Joe Patterson (R-Rocklin) — California Renewables Portfolio Standard Program: local publicly owned electric utilities: large hydroelectric generation.
  • AB 1587 by Assemblymember Tri Ta (R-Westminster) — Prescription drug refills: prescriber notifications.
  • AB 1653 by Assemblymember Tom Lackey (R-Palmdale) — Pupil instruction: health framework: heat illness.
  • AB 1736 by Assemblymember Gail Pellerin (D-Santa Cruz) — Political Reform Act of 1974: lobbyist employers: fictitious appearances.
  • AB 2090 by Assemblymember Alexandra M. Macedo (R-Tulare) — Guardianships and conservatorships: accounting exemptions.
