Governor Newsom signs legislation 8.17.2026

SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom today announced that he has signed the following bills:

  • SB 762 by Senator Jesse Arreguín (D-Oakland) – Transactions and use taxes: various jurisdictions.
  • SB 939 by Senator John Laird (D-Santa Cruz) – Public employees’ retirement: service credit: payments.
  • SB 1165 by Senator Anna Caballero (D-Merced) – Contractor licenses: outstanding liabilities assessed by the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration.
