Governor Newsom signs legislation 8.22.2026

SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom today announced that he has signed the following bills:

  • AB 1651 by Assemblymember Diane Dixon (R-Newport Beach) — State Bar of California: artificial intelligence.

  • AB 2624 by Assemblymember Mia Bonta (D-Oakland) — Privacy for immigration support services providers.

  • AB 2789 by the Committee on Judiciary — Mediation: child custody and visitation.

  • SB 1126 by Senator Steven Choi, Ph.D (R-Irvine)— Local agencies: financial postings.

  • SB 1133 by  Tony Strickland (R-Orange County) — Pupil instruction: preventative health instruction.
