Governor Newsom issues legislative update 9.12.24

SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom today announced that he has signed the following bills:
 

  • AB 1853 by Assemblymember Carlos Villapudua (D-Stockton) – San Joaquin Regional Transit District: meetings: surplus money investments.
  • AB 1879 by Assemblymember Mike Gipson (D-Carson) – Property taxation: filing.
  • AB 1940 by Assemblymember Carlos Villapudua (D-Stockton) – Alcoholic beverages: beer returns.
  • AB 1953 by Assemblymember Carlos Villapudua (D-Stockton) – Vehicles: weight limits.
  • AB 1994 by the Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs – Veterans: Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • AB 2067 by Assemblymember Diane Dixon (R-Newport Beach) – Financial institutions: service of process.
  • AB 2231 by Assemblymember Mike Gipson (D-Carson) – Pawnbrokers: education.
  • AB 2873 by Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella) – Breaking Barriers to Employment Initiative: grants.
  • AB 3168 by Assemblymember Mike Gipson (D-Carson) – Department of Motor Vehicles: confidential records.
  • AB 3278 by the Committee on Transportation –Transportation: omnibus bill.
  • AB 3279 by the Committee on Judiciary – State Bar of California.
  • AB 3280 by the Committee on Judiciary – Superior court: lactation rooms: Judicial Council report.
  • AB 3283 by the Committee on Judiciary – Enforcement of judgments: claims of exemption.
  • AB 3285 by the Committee on Governmental Organization – Alcoholic beverage control.

The Governor also announced that he has vetoed the following bill:
 

  • SB 1432 by Senator Anna Caballero (D-Merced) – Health facilities: seismic standards. A veto message can be found here.
