Governor Newsom signs legislation 8.24.2026

SACRAMENTO – Governor Gavin Newsom today announced that he has signed the following bills:

  • AB 1778 by Assemblymember Joe Patterson (R-Rocklin) — Controlled substances: testosterone.
  • AB 2056 by Assemblymember David Alvarez (D-San Diego) — Teachers: exchange programs: local educational agencies.
  • AB 2134 by Assemblymember Dawn Addis (D-Morro Bay) —- City council members: absences without permission.
  • AB 2692 by Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin (D-Thousand Oaks) — Common interest developments: reinstatement of terminated declarations: County of Los Angeles.
  • SB 557 by Senator Melissa Hurtado (D-Bakersfield) — Child abuse: family resource centers.
  • SB 897 by Senator Steven Choi, Ph.D (R-Irvine) — Vehicles: abandoned vehicles.
  • SB 927 by Senator Steven Choi, Ph.D (R-Irvine) — Intercountry adoption finalized in a foreign country.
